the year of the adventurer

Happy new year! Can you believe we are in 2019 already? What a year full of endless possibilities we have ahead of us. So many goals and dreams are flying through the air. I am hopeful 2019 is good for all of us. I can’t wait to see what is in store. My year started with a road trip and many adventures in mind. I can’t wait to see how far I travel during 2019.

I’ve always been a curious person, but this year I want to take it further. I want to be adventure minded, inquisitive, and explore any chance I get. Whether its weekend road trips (inspired by All Across Texas), adventuring through the best National Parks, or just finding a view to reflect on, I want to see it all.

I spent my new year’s eve hiking through Garner State Park with my sweet family and got to reflect on how amazing my 2018 was. 2019’s goals were planned and I’m excited to start crushing the road it takes to achieve them. The first third of my year has all kinds of road trips and events going on. I’m excited to take you along while I explore. February we will be visiting San Diego, March will be spent in Austin, and in April we are flying to New York City! So, get ready for a fun year spent traveling and finding who our true selves are. 2019 is our year, let’s bloom where our feet are and take every moment of this precious life in.

If you are reading this wondering how the heck you’re going to fit in spontaneous (or planned) travels into your busy lifestyle, I got you boo. There are so may incredible resources available to travel at any age. Companies like EF Tours make planning and budgeting easy for those that want to take an international trip. You can also take to Roadtrippers if you’re looking for a nice drive to incredible destinations. One of my favorite and sometimes overlooked travel resources is Pinterest. I planned my entire trip to Vancouver and Seattle using Pinterest alone. One of my dear friends, Megan, also recently told me about something extra spontaneous: just showing up to the airport, asking for the next (cheapest) flight out and just taking off. She’s gotten to New York for $7! Queen of traveling. I’ve definitely been inspired and can’t wait to try it out myself. Almost all trips are available at our fingertips. International travels, local road trips, and bucket list destinations are waiting for you to take off. Use these resources I listed above to get started. Wether you’re planning months in advance or taking advice from Megan and being spontaneous, it’ll be worth it to just go. Traveling is good for the soul and your entire being will benefit from it.

Overall, my advice is that the first step to begin is just going. Stop making plans or just saying that you want to go. Get up and go somewhere. Take an hour road trip or jet off for the weekend. Get out of your comfort zone and explore. There’s a whole world out there that we’ve yet to see. So many places just waiting to be discovered with your adventurous eyes. So, get up, pack your bags, and let’s go! 2019 is about YOU and getting to know your being. You can’t show off every material thing you have, but you’ll always have memories and stories to tell if you say yes to adventures. So, be a yes girl (or boy) and LET’S GO.

Keep wandering,
